សំαž–αž់ ~ Sampot a long, rectangular cloth worn around the lower body, is a traditional dress in Cambodia. It can be draped and folded in several different ways. There are many styles of Sampot Khmer.

πŸ“ŒKhmer words in traditional clothes

✨Sampot Chong Kben [សំαž–αž់αž…αž„αž€្αž”ិαž“] is a worn around the lower body, wrapped around the waist, and then pulled back between the legs and tucked in at the back like a tail.😍

✨Sampot Chong Somluy[សំαž–αž់αž…αž„αžŸαž˜្αž›ុαž™] is a tube garment wrapped around the lower body. There are several layers of skirts, and in the front length to the shin of the leg is a type of style divided from traditional Sampot tied with the ancient Sompot Chong Kben. πŸ₯°

πŸ“ŒSampot Chong Kben and Sampot Chong Somloy have been worn in Cambodia since the Funan period (1st - 6th century) and it has been seen on numerous statues of that period. It was the most popular Sampot for Khmer people in that period and continued until now.😘😘😘

πŸ’ŒNoted: Since ancient times, the Khmer people have always maintained their national traditions well and have changed little with the evolution of time (Fashion style of dress, and accessories of pieces of jewelry, ....).
